Update on our shop

After five years we will be wrapping up the brick and mortar phase of Eight Legged Octopus at the end of October. Don’t worry, Hip Finds Company will continue at 394 Central Ave - more exciting news on that front soon!

I could not have imagined the journey ahead in October 2020 when I first hit publish on this account. It was scary and exciting and daunting to put out into the world that Eight Legged Octopus would become a real physical thing and not just an idea in my head. You all have been such an important part of making that dream a reality and I thank each and every one of you whether you stopped in the shop, ordered something online, or cheered from afar. It has been such a joy to be part of the downtown and broader Dover community, the ethos of “community over competition” is so much a part of what makes Dover special. I am so honored that the shop became a go-to place for so many people.

But with time and reflection also comes the realization that it is a moment again for a shift. Not a goodbye, but a pivot away from the physical shop aspect of Eight Legged Octopus and into the writing, community, and natural world that also draw me in. This was not an easy decision to make but in the end it is the right time for me and the shop to evolve.

The 15% off sale will continue over the next few weeks so please swing by to get an early start on your holiday shopping or just grab a treat for yourself. After October, I'll continue with some remaining items available online through the end of the year for pick up or delivery. Please also come in and use those gift cards before November if you were saving one for a rainy day. We will still accept them online through the end of the year as well. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions too.
