What is a benefit corporation?
A benefit corporation is a legal designation that a business can elect to codify their goals to serve a broader public good beyond just profits. These take different forms in different states, but typically come with additional reporting requirements and public accountability. Certifications are another step businesses can take to document their public benefit (like B Corp).
